1. Make scoring easier

  •  Basketball: Lower the basketball hoops

  •  Soccer: Use larger goals

  •  Use shorter rackets with larger heads to allow for more control

  •  Friendly pitchers in softball , softer and larger ball tend to increase scoring

  •  All increase use of techniques and tactics for scoring

2. Slow the movement of the ball

  • Slow pace of games helps develop game sense

  • Gives students more time to react and move

  • Learn how to anticipate movement of objects, teammates, and opponents

  • Use balls that are larger or lighter than regulation equipment

3. Increase opportunities to practice techniques and tactics

  • Reduce team size

  • Practice successful repetitions in relevant context will allow students to be more successful

  • Small sided games help students learn techniques and tactics more quickly

  • Friendly guarding when beginning to learn a sport

4. Sequence games to enable the learning of tactics

  • Invasion games requires complex tactics

  • Start with a series of small sided games and progress to larger games

  • Introduce more concepts as games get bigger

  • Field length should be large relative to number of players

  Event and Performance Sports

1.Practice should focus on the technical execution (Modifications - equipment and environment)

2.goals of modifications increase chances of success, ease the execution, emphasis on a particular phase of execution

3.Hurdles-use lower hurdles, Swimming- use fins for less skilled, Gymnastics- use lower, wider balance beams

Target Games

1.Archery- use bows with lower draw weights, use larger targets, reduced the distance

2.Golf- reduce distance from the tee to the green, increase size of the target, use modified golf balls with limited travel distance

3.Ten pin bowling- allow students to release the ball closer to pins, and use bumpers

Wall and Net Court Games

1.Racket sports:

Tennis- a bounce-and-hit stroke for serves
Pickleball - raise the net height

Badminton-use slower birdies

Striking and Fielding Games

1.Hit from a tee rather than a pitch

2.Using shorter-handled bats and larger balls

3.Reduce Size of the field

Invasion Games

1.Reduce number of players on each team

2.Field size should correspond to number of

Players
