You can watch TV until 9 o'clock.

Until 뜻: Happening or done up to a particular point in time. The situation that continues up to a time.

Wonderful day, and it's going to stay like this until the weekend.

Not a good day, but it'll be nice by the weekend.

By 뜻: at or before a time, no later than (늦어도 ~까지는)

Till (L이 두개입니다^^): another way of saying "until."

I need your assignment by Friday.

You must give me your assignment on Friday or before.

I need your assignment until Friday.

I have your assignment and I am going to need it all week. You can have it back after Friday.

(X) Write the report until 5 pm.

(O) Write the report by 5 pm.

Write the report until 5 pm means “Start writing the report now, continue writing it until 5 pm, then stop writing it regardless of whether it is finished or not.”

Write the report by 5 pm means “Make sure that at 5 pm the report is written and finished”.

Welcome to the first show of the new year.

It will take me a while to get used to that new number. 2017

I am just getting around to it finally now. It took me a while to get around to it.

He looks better in person. She looks a lot better in person.

She is a lot prettier in person. He is a lot shorter in person. He is shorter than I expected him to be. He's taller than I thought he would be.

(X) He looks better in real.

(O) He looks better in reality. He looks a lot younger in real life

He's photogenic!

It's faithful to the original

Don't use the photo. The picture doesn't do you justice. You look a lot younger in your life.

Thanks everyone for stopping by the show, the first broadcast of 2017 and we will see you next time.

Practice makes perfect? Perfect practice makes perfect!

Quote of the day: "If you're not crying, you're not learning"

오늘 교수님이 한 말씀입니다. 한 학생이 아티클이 너무 어렵다고 투덜거렸더니 직역하면 "너가 울고 있지 않다면, 배우고 있지 않는 것이다". 나의 능력치를 벗어날 것같은 노력이 필요하다는 거죠. 공감은 되지만 흘려야 할 눈물이 많을 듯...^^;;

Guess I'm off to a good start on this student experience!!

We're here about an hour and I'm glad you'r here. This is a wonderful day for you to be here. We're kicking off Finding Dory week.

Finding Dory is in theaters this Friday which is like soon. I don't know how many days away but it's really soon cuz it's Friday. So whatever day this is. It's Friday. A lot of people tell me that they like Dory because they also have short-term memory loss. How many people here have short-term memory loss? Yeah, me too, me too. How many people have short-term memory loss here? Me too. We have all been there I think. You forget where you left your keys or you forget the name of someone you just met or forget to put your pants on before you leave the house.

The other day I did something really stupid. I stopped at Starbucks and I put my drink on top of my car and then I forgot it. And have you done that? And then I drove off. And it was a vente so I got stuck under an overpass. I don't trust my memory anymore. I couldn't leave the house this morning until I checked to make sure that the stove was off which is ridiculous cuz I don't even know how to turn it on. Why would I?

They say that one reason that we have short-term memory loss is cuz we just rely on technology. Our computers have memory. Our phones have memory. Our mattresses have memory foam. So now our beds have more memory that we do. Which is great because now I can show Portia how much of the bed she and the dogs take up. Because it's still..

I read an article that had ten tips to improve your memory. And lucky for you I remembered three. So tip number one, they say people over 55 who regularly do the mattress dance(^^;) have better memory. Which is good, cuz that's not the time to forget someone's name, you know?  Tip number two, exercise boosts your memory and that's why they call it jogging your memory and not Lazy Boy-ing your memory. The hard part is remembering to go to the gym. Tip number three is experts say eating chocolate and drinking red wine can improve your memory. So most popular one. So between getting sweaty and the mattress dance and that, I gave you all some fun homework, so. And now something I never forget to do and that is to dance.
